Abigail Loya

Abigail Abby Loyas path to teaching at 窪蹋勛圖 started in the same place many of her students are today. A Winnemucca native, Abby discovered electrical and instrumentation while still in high school, entered 窪蹋勛圖s Maintenance Training Cooperative program and went on to spend nine years working at Phoenix Mine.

When an opportunity to teach brought her back to 窪蹋勛圖, Abby found a new way to use that industry experience. She has shaped her classes around the practical knowledge students will need when they enter the field, including lessons she wishes she had known herself. What began as a career change that allowed her to spend more time with her family has become something deeply rewarding, especially when students have that moment when everything clicks or return later to tell her that what they learned in class is exactly what theyre seeing on the job.
